When we were apart at different universities, we wrote and phoned each other all the time, I wish I'd never thrown them away, it would be nice to read the letters we wrote to each other...
You're very lucky, people just seem to send cards now, I think the last letter I ever received was written to me by my father on the day he died 20 years ago which I still have. There's something very romantic about a group of letters tied into a bundle.
That will be something you can look at again when you're really old, unlike emails and texts that are the only thing my son's age group seem to do, bit sad isn't it.
I have some really lovely pen pals that write me the most beautiful letters,
ReplyDeleteit´s a joy to receive them!

DeleteThe 1910 to 1920 era was a dreadful time in most ways, but I really love the style and fashions - the painting is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it beautiful, I love the colours in it.
DeleteI have few letters but I have kept all our cards me and my husband wrote to each other when we first met over 20ys ago.
