It's not very cold, certainly not cold enough to snow... but does it snow at the seaside anyway?
A couple of Christmases ago in the village in London I remember the man and son walking through a heavy snowstorm to the corner to buy a Christmas tree, there was something almost Dickensian about it, in fact there were a couple of fantastic white winters.
mr dog loved walking through snow in the park
and the lake would freeze
the park lodges and seats looked so pretty
the chapel and it's gates
and great fun for my son arriving home from school
As this is one of the warmest Winters (so far) it doesn't look like a white Christmas this year
but even if it does cool drastically, does it snow at the seaside where I live now?
after all we use salt to melt the snow, and living so close to the sea with all the salt in the air, I can't imagine ever being snowed in here,
lots of you live by the sea, so tell me...

Lovely snowy photos. We never have snow at Christmastime here in Oregon, USA. This is the only time of year I miss it though. Just the week surrounding Christmas. I grew up in Maine, so snow came with that territory. :). Your Schnauzer is adorable!
ReplyDeleteThank you , hope you have a lovely Christmas Mary.x
DeleteOh! Yes! I remember Poole Quay...Covered in snow!
ReplyDeleteBoats and all, nice to see it on those posh Sunseeker
boats to. Though l can't remember the last time it happened.
And, l do remember Poole Park Lake being iced over. All
the ducks and geese sliding about on top...Great to watch,
not much fun for them of course. Then the council used to
come along and break it up for them...Unlike now...They can't
be bothered.
When l was a boy...We had snow every Christmas....Not now
of course...Think it's called Global Warning...! :).
Yes there's something about snow at Christmas that makes us put up with it far more than if it arrives in January or February, hope you have a lovely Christmas Willie. x
DeleteNot sure about that one. I do remember having that white Christmas a few years ago though - we actually went sledging on Christmas night - fabulous! Love your pictures - they really capture that nostalgic snowy mood x Jane
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed, thank you Jane, hope you have a lovely Christmas. x
DeleteYes, I can confirm that it has snowed in Bognor Regis...supposedly the sunniest place in Britain!
ReplyDeleteHope you get those slippers for Christmas. xx
Ah ha great, but definitely no slippers for Christmas I've looked in so many places. Hope you have a lovely Christmas. x
DeleteMy dear the woolly dog
ReplyDeleteSince leaving the Great Metropolis we have experienced several episodes of snow and one year we built a snowman on the beach (I will try and dig out a photograph of that moment). I only remember it snowing in London once or twice (in the 20 years that we were there) and what great events they were! I hope that we have at least a sprinkle this season
Best wishes to you and yours

Yes would love to see that photo! Hope your Christmas is wonderful. x
DeleteI love the snowing picture on my blog. I also do love a good park too, especially in London? I was trying to guess where. Snow would be lovely. I never been on the beach in the snow, that would be an experience! Merry Christmas X
ReplyDeleteThank you heather, wishing you have a peaceful Christmas. x
DeleteApparently in does snow in Hastings too. I've seen pictures of a snowy beach, though no snow since we moved here. Hope we haven't jinxed it!
ReplyDeleteReally needing to see some snowy beach photos now, with all the confirmations about it snowing at the seaside! hope you have a lovely Christmas. x
DeleteIt snows in Brighton, where my sons live. Not as often as it does up here though! Merry Christmas.

Thank you Mrs Bertimus, would you consider moving to a college/university by the sea though? wishing you a very happy Christmas. x
DeleteYES! Of course it snows by the sea! My family lived on the East Kent coast for many years and my father swam in the sea every day of the year until he was 75, even in the snow.
ReplyDeleteIn the winter of 1962/3 the sea even froze. Honest!
OK I will buy two coals a carrot and keep my fingers crossed, have a wonderful Christmas nilly. x
DeleteNo idea ... so if you do get a snowy seashorese be sure to share!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a very Christmas and a peaceful new year!
